The main function of the successful candidate will be working across internal departments to design and propose state-of-the art communications solutions. Equally important will be sharing these proposals with mission critical organizations in an easy-to-understand format. Basically, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communications and technical skills.
Join our entrepreneurial team as we serve public safety, critical infrastructure, federal, and other critical communications agencies. Provide systems engineering support for a variety of applications including voice dispatch, interoperability, and incident command. - Grow to become a valuable technical resource for the sales team, translating complex system requirements into configurations for customer solutions.
- Support growing sales of various Radio over Internet Protocol (RoIP)-based solutions and services for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and broadband wireless including Mission Critical PTT (MCPTT) on Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks.
- Will work with federal, state and local government agencies; may require background checks. Research implementation issues and come up with system designs based on Catalyst products; create drawings, equipment lists, quotes, and statements of work for projects.
- Communicate status of projects using assigned tools as directed including NetSuite. The successful candidate will also:
- Support other inside and channel sales people during telephone, webinar, and face-to-face interactions as required.
- Perform a variety of other sales tasks including lead follow-ups, qualifications, development and maintenance of contract vehicles, and training.
- Support marketing programs. Provide technical-oriented content for brochures, specification sheets, product descriptions, on-site and virtual presentations, magazine articles, videos, etc.
- Research and provide competitive solutions analysis for both functionality and price. Create documents for internal use, for dealers, and for proposals that summarize Catalyst strengths and weaknesses vs. competitors.
- Working with the Operations Manager, enhance and expand the Catalyst Solutions Maintenance program. Create customer documentation to describe new features and communicate them to customers. Communicate these features & benefits to sales team, dealers, and customers. Provide “hands-on” engineering and other technical functions that include product and system-level commissioning, testing, training and troubleshooting for Catalyst’s suite of communications technologies and related products including LMR, LTE, and IT networks.
- Work with the Operations section to identify, qualify, train and coordinate service shops.
- Working with others across the business, update processes for various business functions including discovery of customer requirements, proposal generation, and technical response to customer questions regarding proposals.
- This position is based in Forest, VA. Sales and other activities will primarily be in Morth America; some travel outside of North America may be required. Long term this position will have responsibilities in international sales.

Qualifications:
- Strong desire to work in and grow an entrepreneurial business.
- Excellent writing, public speaking, and other communications skills required.
- At least two years course work in Engineering or similar field preferred.
- Strong team skills.
- An exceptionally well-qualified candidate may be considered for an apprenticeship which could result in a full-time position in this or another related Catalyst position.
