Propulsion™ Dispatch Console

Propulsion™ is Catalyst’s flagship mission-critical dispatch console, designed with a modern, graphics-rich interface that’s fully customizable and optimized for touch-screen environments. Tailored for industries like public safety, utilities, education, and transportation, it significantly enhances dispatcher efficiency while reducing the likelihood of human error.

Key Capabilities & Features

Customizable User Layouts

Administrators can assign pre-designed layouts or create user-specific configurations, enabling each dispatcher to access only the appropriate channels and tools. Multiple configurations can be saved and switched as needed.

Broad Radio System Support

Interfaces with a wide range of communication systems including P25 (CSSI, DFSI), DMR AIS, EDACS®, NXDN, LTR, Fleetsync™, MDC‑1200 tone control, DC radio control, and 3GPP Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) via LTE.

Radio Control over IP (RCoIP)

Employs Catalyst’s RCoIP technology to integrate and extend dispatch capabilities over IP networks.

Interoperability & Interworking

Enables seamless communication between disparate LMR systems and between LMR and LTE networks, simplifying dispatcher workflows and streamlining operations.

Robust Architecture & Accessories

Distributed, Fault-Tolerant Design

Propulsion™ leverages a resilient, distributed architecture—leveraging Catalyst’s gateways rather than relying on a centralized switch—enhancing flexibility and dependability.

Wide Interface Compatibility

Supports both commercial off-the-shelf hardware and a spectrum of radio technologies, providing flexibility across roles and organizations.

Accessories

Includes telephony control units, various microphones, headsets, speakers, foot switches, and both traditional and touch-enabled monitors.

Location-Aware Integration

Propulsion™ works seamlessly with Catalyst’s InterLoc™ system, offering GPS-based user location tracking.

user-friendly, graphics-rich interface that’s entirely customizable

Propulsion™ is the flagship dispatch console from Catalyst Communications, offering a user-friendly, graphics-rich interface that’s entirely customizable for mission-critical environments. It unifies legacy and modern communication systems—including P25, DMR, LTE, and multiple radio protocols—all through Catalyst’s Radio Control over IP (RCoIP) framework, ensuring streamlined interoperability across LMR and MCPTT networks.

Dispatchers benefit from intuitive features such as customizable layouts, unit tracking (Enable/Disable, Emergency, Unit ID), and multi-channel messaging (Group, Individual, Simulselect), complemented by structured call logging and optional real-time recording with playback. The system supports both audio separation between active and inactive channels and convenient telephone-radio patching via SIP or traditional lines. Additional functionalities like auxiliary I/O control, audible alarms, paging, and headset/footswitch integration further enhance operational control.

Built on a robust, distributed architecture, Propulsion™ eliminates single points of failure by leveraging Catalyst’s advanced gateways and IP networking. Highly adaptable, it accommodates various hardware setups—from rugged touchscreens to standard monitors—and fully integrates with Catalyst’s InterLoc™ location services to visualize unit positions in real time.
