Catalyst gateways support both wireline and wireless system interface connections. These interfaces can be used independently or together, allowing agencies to build customized solutions tailored to their operational needs.
Catalyst brings deep technical expertise and extensive experience interfacing with a wide range of radio systems—an advantage that sets us apart. Unlike many competitors who rely on custom-built hardware, Catalyst gateways run on standard computer based platforms. This architecture enables most processing to occur at the Gateway, not the Console, delivering enhanced performance and scalability.
Wireline Gateways
Catalyst offers direct Ethernet-based integration with leading radio system standards, ensuring robust, high-performance connectivity across multiple technologies:
Gateway software that connects directly to a P25 switch infrastructure via the manufacturer’s CSSI. Supports multiple simultaneous audio paths for increased performance compared to donor radio scanning. Includes advanced features such as console priority (pre-emption) and emergency call support.
3GPP-compliant gateway software that connects to one or more 3GPP MCPTT servers. Functions as an end-user client, dispatching to Broadband Push to Talk users and allowing seamless integration of MCPTT talkgroups with LMR talkgroups/channels.
Enables direct Ethernet connectivity to P25 conventional base stations. Supports both P25 digital and analog audio, emergency calls, unit ID display, and access to up to 32 channels (one at a time).
Supports console-to-VoIP telephony or SIP PBX systems via a standard SIP Ethernet interface.
Provides Ethernet connectivity to DMR Tier III (Trunked) systems through the manufacturer’s AIS gateway. Offers multiple simultaneous audio paths for more robust performance versus donor radio scanning.
Wireless Gateways
Catalyst’s wireless gateways offer streamlined integration with a broad variety of trunked and conventional radio systems. When supported, they include advanced features such as Unit IDs and emergency call handling.
These gateways use:
• Audio connections (2- or 4-wire) converted to UDP packets for efficient voice transmission.
• Serial control connections converted to TCP packets for critical command-and-control synchronization.
Compatible with L3Harris P25 Trunked and Conventional, EDACS, and Analog systems. Supports Unit IDs, emergency calls, scanning, and direct access to hundreds of channels or talkgroups. Integrates with XL-200 Series, M7300, M5300, and Unity radios.
Supports Kenwood P25, LTR Trunking, FleetSync, NXDN (Trunked and Conventional), and MDC1200. Offers Unit IDs, emergency calls, scanning, and broad channel/talkgroup access. Contact Catalyst for supported donor radios and protocols.
Designed for most Tone Control repeaters and mobile radios. Supports limited channel-changing capabilities.
Enables a simple 4-wire audio and PTT connection to a repeater or mobile radio.
