CATALYST Technologies
Driving Innovation in Mission-Critical Communications
Since its founding in 1997, Catalyst Communications Technologies has set the standard as a leader in Radio Control over IP (RCoIP) for the critical communications industry. We’re pioneers in delivering reliable voice communication solutions for Push-To-Talk (PTT) networks and have consistently served public safety, government, utility, education and transportation agencies.
Headquartered in Forest, Virginia—nestled in the scenic Blue Ridge foothills—Catalyst is dedicated to enhancing mission-critical communications through innovation, superior technology, and exceptional customer support.
Our Innovative Technology
Radio Control over IP (RCoIP)
Catalyst’s RCoIP technology powers modern dispatch and interoperability with unmatched scalability and flexibility. It underlies platforms like our Propulsion™ dispatch console system, delivering a fully customizable and intuitive user interface designed to minimize operator errors during high-stress situations.
Interworking: Bridging Legacy & LTE Communications
We enable seamless interfacing between legacy Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems and modern LTE networks, including Mission Critical Push-To-Talk (MCPTT) and services like FirstNet® Built with AT&T and Southern Linc’s CriticalLinc™. This critical interoperability is central to Catalyst’s mission to support evolving communications landscapes.
Mobile and Transportable Solutions
Recognizing the need for flexible, on-the-go communication tools, Catalyst offers a range of Mobility Solutions, including portable dispatch consoles, remote gateways, Propulsion Go Kit™, Go Tab™, Go Pod™ and Incident Commander Element (ICE™). These solutions ensure operations continue uninterrupted in diverse environments—from field emergencies to backup dispatch centers.
Unified Broadband Interoperability Platform (BIOP)
At IWCE 2025, Catalyst showcased its Broadband Interoperability Platform (BIOP), enabling cross-communication between smartphones using different Push-to-Talk over Broadband (PTTOB) services such as FirstNet® and Southern Linc’s CriticalLinc™, alongside traditional LMR systems:
Any-to-any interoperability
PTT communication across diverse broadband and radio systems.
Advanced audio technology
For Broadband networks, Wideband codecs deliver “telephone-quality” audio—far superior to legacy narrowband LMR systems.
Unit ID routing
Facilitates bidirectional unit identification between LMR and MCPTT LTE networks, maintaining clarity and situational awareness across platforms.
InterLoc™—Location-Aware Dispatch
Real-time GPS tracking of LTE-enabled devices using MCPTT apps, displayed directly within dispatch maps. It offers cost-effective, feature-rich location visualization—no pricey map licenses or data costs required.
